Meet Emily

Licensed Professional Counselor,

Certified EMDR Therapist &

Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning

Emily's background with horses initially motivated her career in psychotherapy incorporating equine interactions, but the continued interest in mind-body healing furthered her training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Emily's practice stresses psychosomatic awareness, attachment background, and significant life events that have shaped our psyche and understanding of ourselves.

Her education includes a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Regis University. Additionally, she is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine-Specialist in Mental Health and Learning through PATH Intl. and a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR Institute.

Before starting her private practice, Emily served as a Program Director and Therapist for several Equine Therapy non-profits and was a Wellness Clinician for a large community mental health organization.

Emily is currently actively involved with the Junior League of Denver, serving on the Public Policy committee, which works to pass legislation aimed at lifting Colorado women and children out of poverty. As an expert on healing from trauma from the Polyvagal Theory, Emily has spoken at several regional conferences and is a published writer on this topic. Using her knowledge and experience with horses, Emily is passionate about guiding others through their careers integrating equines into therapeutic services and hosts wellness retreats throughout the Rocky Mountain area several times throughout the year.
